5 Habits You Could Implement!

What’s good everyone, so today I just wanted to talk about some of the habits that I have implemented in the last couple of months that have given me the biggest benefits. I am not perfect and do not do these habits every single day, I just make sure to do them 4-5 times weekly. I believe that we put too much pressure on ourselves to do our habits every single day when honestly this is not possible. Some people can be disciplined enough to do this but I am not there yet. So if you resonate with any of these habits, feel free to implement them and let me know if any of them were of beneficial to you.

Red Light

The first one is that during night time I change my LED’s to red light. Red light is opposite of blue light, and because I am using an LED, there is no blue light coming whatsoever. Blue light is known to make you more alert and awake but red light allows you to have light without alerting your brain to wake up. Since I have been doing this for 2 years now, whenever I turn on the red light, my body starts to wind down and I use red light to signal to my brain, “Hey bro its time to sleep.”

Now the benefit of this is that if I need to stay awake late to finish work or study as I did in the past, I just turn on white light and my god it just keeps me going. Light is a super useful tool to regulate our bodies and minds.

Blasting Cold Water

Cold showers are super beneficial in triggering dopamine releases in your body and help with better skin and fat loss, due to your body burning through energy to regulate your internal temperature while withstanding the cold water. When I need to wake up or need a boost of energy I take cold showers. However since its approaching the Wintertime, it is too cold and too dry. Thus I shower warm and at the end of my shower blast cold water on my forehead. The forehead holds your body’s temperature monitor, so blasting cold water on your forehead can help you from stop feeling cold so your not freezing after your shower, helps your skin, and is a refresher as you start your day.

No Towel on Face

I stopped using a towel on my face to keep my face cleaner and prevent breakouts. If you don’t want to do this, I would recommend using a different towel then the one you use to dry off your body. You don’t want to transfer filth from your body to your face post-shower.

Doing Skincare with Damp Face

I love the winter but I don’t love how dry it gets. I get affected quite annoyingly by dry weather. Thus I just started to do my skincare post-shower with a damp face. Damp skin helps your skin better absorb your skincare routine. Also I started to do it to help lock in more moisture and prevent my skin from drying out. Its been a week since I have implemented this and it has helped a lot. My skin has gotten clearer and hasn’t been drying out.

Supplements

We lack a lot of minerals, vitamins, and micronutrients that are vital to our body’s functions. Because I am vegetarian and suck at eating, I do not get all the nutrients that I need to function at my best, so I take these supplements.

Magnesium Glycinate:

I started to use this after my homie, Sriram put me on it (check out his website at https://sriramkotta.com/). Changed my life, help get rid of anxiety, better sleep, better heart rate, overall improved mood

Vitamin D3:

I was prescribed this when I had heart issues in December of 2020. I been using it ever since. I just feel good taking it, I know it helps with heart health and immune support. It could be placebo. Many people are deficient in Vitamin D because of the modern lifestyle, and I know I definitely am by being indoors most of the time, so I definitely better when taking this.

Vegan Seaweed Omega-3:

I just researched I should take this because I am vegetarian. I found it helps with recovery, as I definitely recover faster and feel less soreness from the gym.

Creatine:

Again since I am vegetarian, I read I should take this as it helps with better gym performance and gains. However I do not use it everyday and mainly before workouts or before I go rock-climbing.

Bonus:

Sunlight and Coffee:

I make my self a cup of coffee and get morning sunlight. I love drinking coffee, the first sip just always hits the spot. The sunlight just makes it better.

Thank you for reading, lets grow together 🙂
