Getting Back to the Basics!

Recently I have been thinking that if I want to perform at a maximal level then I need to make sure my foundations are good. If I am not feeling well or am tired, then I won’t be able to achieve my goals and use my time most effectively. However these 3 things are very difficult to really work on because there are so many factors and variables associated with them. But I have realized that I need to get back to the basics.

Diet:

Over the course of these last 3 months I have been really focusing on trying to eat healthy to make sure I have good energy. I have experimented with different foods and have noticed when I eat unhealthy foods and healthy foods. What I have mainly done is add more fruit into my diet, by meal prepping fruit. This has been a game changer because whenever I am craving something sweet and cold, instead of juice or soda, I can just eat fruit. Also eating fruit is way more satiating then chips or popcorn which is something I used to eat often. Drinking more smoothies has also been great, as they give me a lot of energy. Here is a smoothie recipe that I use:

Sleep:

I have started doing 3 things to help me fall asleep, which has been journaling, meditating, and reading. Journaling is a great way to get all the thoughts out of my head, so they don’t keep coming out when I am trying to sleep. Meditating has been wonderful as it just calms my mind and my body so I am now in a peaceful head space and am relaxed. Reading has been goated, as reading slows my mind down and I usually read something motivating so it gets me excited for the next day

Exercise:

I have started implementing more exercise and fitness in my days. Whether it been running, walking, biking, or hitting the gym, I make sure to do something each day. Recently I have been running first thing in the morning, which has been really fun. I then immediately hit the gym and have been doing more cardio to help with endurance and burning off excess calories.

As always, thanks for reading and letting me help you become a better you!
