Hard Work Pays Off

Hard Work Pays Off

Over the last weekend I had an amazing trip in Providence, Rhode Island, and I learned a lot from that experience. One of the main learning lessons was that growth pays off. The amount of work and effort we put into ourselves does eventually pay off. We may not know when or in what form these payoffs will come, as we don't have control over the fruits of our actions, but eventually we will reach these payoffs. All we can do is simply stay in the present and ask ourselves how do I get there? But this can be the difficult part as well, where do we want to go? With social media and the internet there are so many places we can go. We constantly have the world as well as others telling us what is the right way to live and what desires we should have. Society, the people around you, as well as people that care for you the most constantly tell you what you should desire and what kind of life you are supposed or should live.

Should.

This is a disgusting word that many successful people said to remove from your vocabulary. Should represents the gap between what you really want and what you think society wants you to do. Yes sometimes it is an helpful word as yes sometimes you should be doing something else, but using should isn’t helping us do the other thing is it? I thought about this and considered using the word can instead of should. Instead of I should be working out, saying the word I can work out, alleviates the pressure of it being something we have to do and into something we can do. When we use the word “should” we are absolving control over our life and auto-piloting into the conditioning of society and those around us. When we use “can” we bring control back into our-lives reminding ourselves that we chose what we want to do and that there are many things we can do. When we say we can do something it relieves the pressure and removes the emotional struggle from doing the action, because we are giving ourselves control over our life. Another thing we can also say is that we “get to do this” instead of we “have to do this”. We must believe in our own life philosophy and live it out. I know that my life philosophy is allowing me to be the person I want and have the experiences I want to have. Obviously I have a long way to go and must go back onto the grind to break into the next version of myself and be even better. I cannot wait for the new heights that I will reach, and hopefully you can say the same for yourself.

Thank you for reading, let’s grow together :)
