Saying Yes
Saying Yes to Coachella, saying yes to Miami, saying yes to Mexico, saying yes to workout with friends, saying yes to playing magic, saying yes to run club, saying yes for Anime Expo, saying yes to trips to LA, saying yes for new restaurants, saying yes for music collaborations, saying yes to reconnecting, saying yes to going out, saying yes to helping out, saying yes to living, saying yes to discipline, saying yes to change, but most importantly saying yes to things I genuinely want to do
I honestly had no idea this year would have been going this way. The year can be going to the lowest points to the highest points in a matter of months. This part of my life feels like the Naruto “The Last” movie, because it takes place after Shippuden so they’re like done with the war stuff, our college, and they just living life, everyone on their own path, but still making time for one another. I wish they did a whole show with that timeline, but I can only wish. Doing my dental apps have been really forcing me to sit down and reflect. Its crazy that 18 year old was so different. 18 year old me would’ve never believed what 22 year me has done, but that’s what makes life exciting, you never know how far you will grow. I honestly want to be growing until I die, and that’s why I feel today is always better than yesterday because I have more knowledge and gratitude for life. I’m not a very sentimental person, the past is the past and what happened happened, you can’t change shit. That’s why I look to the future because at least we can control our actions and look to ways to be better than now. Saying yes is something the old me did not do. I don’t know what changed, maybe the 10 trips I have been on ;), or the countless introspection in quarantine, or the great conversations I have had. But most importantly saying yes to things I genuinely want to do.
